Helene Bon

Helene has spent a lifetime exploring the world and honing her talents. She has journeyed from travel writing to technical writing, but has arrived at joy in teaching.

She has taught in New York City, Westchester and Rockland since 2001, and founded Innovative Tutoring in 2004 when she moved to Rockland with her husband and daughter.

Her approach is driven by the belief that all people are inclined to learn given the right circumstances and motivation. She focuses on determining the strengths, interests, and needs of her students, then facilitates their experiences so they may enjoy learning on their own terms.

Helene holds a B.A. in Journalism from Temple University, an M.S. Ed. from Hunter College, and New York State Certification for grades 1-6. She is an active member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the National Council of Teachers of English. She donates her time to Riverspace Arts in Nyack and to the "Reflections" and Student Council committees of the Valley Cottage PTA.
